At the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066, Norman men wore their hair long in front, and short or shaved at the bak of the head.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574198575168538104.post-53773561926616799692017-11-21T08:19:56.994-06:002017-11-21T08:19:56.994-06:00Short hair was a symbol of "enslavement"...Short hair was a symbol of "enslavement" only in cultures and times that valued long hair on men. Tatoos in ancient cultures were given in rites of passage, and had social and spiritual significance.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574198575168538104.post-4484810709149253522017-11-21T08:16:22.755-06:002017-11-21T08:16:22.755-06:00I have no problem with "traditionalist" ...I have no problem with "traditionalist" priests, but they're stuck in the 1940's/50's. Note how they all seem to prefer the "Roman" chasuble which was worn then, instead of the more ample "Gothic"? It's odd because the "Roman" isn't traditional, and was originally condemned as "innovation" when it first appeared.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574198575168538104.post-54628593935215466002017-04-06T11:32:25.400-05:002017-04-06T11:32:25.400-05:00Well I do wish that the military wouldn't be O...Well I do wish that the military wouldn't be OCD about hair having to be shaven, I do understand why they do it for lice.Still I don't think you need to lose Identity to serve your nation. I see it as a way of becoming too much like the Roman empire was. I do like militaries with room for individualism as long as teamwork is known. You don't need to have a shaven or even short hair to be disciplined. Look at the Samurai or Greek Spartans.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574198575168538104.post-18634882550403087992017-03-02T12:02:35.228-06:002017-03-02T12:02:35.228-06:00While I love a high and tight haircut I have alway...While I love a high and tight haircut I have always had a mustache. After reading the hagakure at age 15, a book written by the last of the samurai lamenting their fate and remembering their glory days. The book noted that the growth of a mustache ensured that if they ever had their head taken in battle that it could not be mistaken for a boy or a woman's and thus discarded. The ultimate dishonor for eveyone involved. At this point it would be on a par with circumcision or tattooing. My family may not hold titles in this century, but I will be damned if I am to drop all the external trappings of nobility.SerpentSlayerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01228924555716674876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574198575168538104.post-56175108446839280432015-10-29T09:23:35.730-05:002015-10-29T09:23:35.730-05:00There are so many different College hairstyles for...There are so many different College hairstyles for boys in the market. This is why it bothers me that feminists see dressing that way as a symbol of empowerment. It's the opposite of empowering. Actually, the timeless look of power is bright, patterned long flowing robes over a form-fitting under-layer, styled long hair, beads and cord and brooches for decoration instead of piercings, and puffed sleeves or shoulders.
